The story behind Horsfield.

An eye for details.

At Horsfield Upholstery, craftsmanship isn’t just a skill—it’s a standard.

What started as two neighbours with a shared passion has grown into a trusted name in bespoke furniture and reupholstery, serving homes across the local community and throughout England.

Martin built his career developing furniture for leading brands such as Buoyant and Furnico, refining his eye for design, structure, and quality. But he always knew he wanted more—to create pieces that truly reflected his own standards. What began as a garage-based passion project soon became something far greater. When the pandemic brought redundancy, Martin didn’t step back—he stepped forward and built the foundation of something exceptional.

Neil’s journey perfectly complements that vision. With years of experience as a service manager for DFS, La-Z-Boy, and Furnico, followed by running his own successful repair and reupholstery business, Neil brings unmatched expertise in fabrics, finishes, and restoration. His ability to transform worn, tired furniture into stunning centrepieces is what sets the standard for everything we do.

One conversation was all it took—and Horsfield Upholstery was born.

From humble beginnings in a workshop beneath a local cricket club, demand quickly grew. Clients recognised the difference: genuine craftsmanship, attention to detail, and furniture made to last—not just years, but generations.

Today, from our workshop at Swanfield Works, our growing team continues to deliver beautifully crafted, made-to-measure furniture alongside expert reupholstery services. Whether it’s a completely bespoke design or breathing new life into a cherished family piece, every project is treated with the same care, precision, and pride.

We don’t believe in mass production.
We believe in furniture with character, purpose, and longevity.

By restoring and reimagining existing pieces, we also champion a more sustainable, eco-conscious approach—helping you keep what you love while reducing waste.

Built by hand. Designed to last. Made for you.
